My name is Ashley Toomey and I am in my third year in the kinesiology program at
the University of Guelph Humber studying Kinesiology. I have exceptional communication and people skills and I am able communicate effectively to clients of all ages. As a ski instructor I conveyed ski safety and instructions to clients who aged from two to eighty years of age. I have experience with creativity and program development when creating lessons, as well as leadership skills while instructing the classes. I had the exceptional experience of securing a placement during high school as a physiotherapist’s assistant. There I learned how to administer a TENS machine and ultrasound to our clients. I also assisted clients with rehabilitative exercises and ensured they were comfortable by frequently retrieving hot and
cold packs for them. I have also had supervisory positions at both Shoppers Drug Mart and Cotton Ginny. These positions gave me the opportunity to assess client needs and effectively handle client escalations. I believe that my vast experience has enhanced my people skills and given me many unique abilities. I believe that I am an academic role model, I show initiative and teamwork in my courses and I am self-motivated.
